Alex Sinha
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Alex made the move to Toronto last May in search of opportunity and adventure. After completing her B.A. in psychology from Carleton University and spending 4 months working onboard the Disney Wonder, she is here pursuing her passion for dance and the arts.
Alex began dancing at the tender age of 3. She trained at the Children’s Ballet Studio in ballet, jazz and tap before joining the competitive team at Greta Leeming Studio of Dance at age 11. There, Alex discovered her love for tap training under Tami-Lynn Caloia and received the highest mark on her intermediate and advanced tap exams (A.D.A.P.T). Alex holds her Intermediate certificate in RAD ballet and is highly trained in jazz, tap, hip hop and contemporary. Alex has competed in multiple competitions and dance offs both nationally and internationally winning countless awards.
Alex attended Canterbury High School, Ottawa’s school for the arts, specializing in dance. There she trained extensively in ballet and modern which both improved her technique and sparked her passion for contemporary-modern. At Canterbury, Alex had the opportunity to choreograph many routines as well as participate in other students’ work performing in annual show cases. She appeared in productions such as “My Fair Lady” “Hansel and Gretal” and “Cinderella.” She graduated with a 98% average and distinction in dance. Throughout her time in Ottawa, Alex has taught many different styles of dance to children ages 3 to 14. She choreographed routines in jazz, tap, ballet and hip hop and organized bi-annual recitals.
Since moving to Toronto Alex has trained at multiple studios including O.I.P., City Dance Corps and Lindsay Ritter. In Toronto, she has performed at the Pearson Street Festival, was featured in music videos and was a featured soloist in “Paper Moons of Jupiter”, an art production at the Enwave Theatre.
Alex is very excited to be part of Lindsay Ritter Productions and can’t wait to see what this year brings!
