Meghan N. Smith

Meghan, a Toronto native, is a singer, dancer, actor and aerial acrobat. Her passion for performance began with singing, when at the age of 10 she began attending the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts. She didn’t discover her love of dance until halfway through high school, when she became a dance major at Rosedale Heights School of the Arts. She was hooked. At RHSA she became the Dance Captain of the Company and Musical Theatre Program, graduated with the Musical Theatre Award, and had the opportunity to perform the roles of Eponine (Les Miserables) and Lulu (Cabaret). During her high school years she also had the opportunity to co-choreograph and perform in “Reality Rules” – an AIDS awareness musical.

After moving on to study dance at George Brown College, Meghan went back to her musical theatre roots and performed the roles of Victoria the White Cat (Cats) and The Apache Dancer (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat) in the Curtain Call Players’ productions.

Having done various freelance dance gigs after graduation, Meghan began working with Toronto Aerial Dance, where she trained and performed in Aerial Silks (and double silks), Static Trapeze, Bungee and Harnessed Wall Dance, with a specialty in Aerial Hoop. Performance highlights include Buskerfest, Luminato, Nuit Blanche, The Choreographers Ball, and DanceWeekend.

After a long dance and performance hiatus, Meghan is back and has been training in contemporary and commercial jazz with LR Dance, and training and performing Nuvo Burlesque dance with CMC Entertainment/DivaGirl Entertainment. Meghan is happy to be doing what she loves again and is thrilled to be doing so with the Lindsay Ritter family!

Brittany Robinson

September 8, 2010

brittanyrobinsonBrittany Robinson

Brittany started dancing later in life than most typical dancers. Stemming from a background of figure skating she switched over to dance at the age of 14 participating in competitions across Ontario and the US. She continued her dancing education at George Brown College where she graduated with a Diploma in Performance Arts.

Brittany has always made dance a priority, after a very serious injury that led to reconstructive surgery she was determined to gain her strength back and inspire other dancers with injuries that although some movements are restricted at times it is still possible to dance especially if you are performing from the heart.

Having trained in all styles; ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, musical theatre, modern & contemporary she passes on her useful skills to younger dancers at studios around the GTA.

Brittany’s past performances have been with LR productions in events such as Women in Dance, Dances of Offering, Toronto’s Choreographer’s Ball and many more(2009&2010). Back up dancer for recording Artist Naomi Zaman at Dundas Square in Toronto(2010). As well she was featured as a dancer in a Music Video “Reverie” for recording artist T-Nile(2009). She also put her musical theatre skills to test when she was cast in “Footloose” the musical where she was part of ensemble singing and dancing(2008).

Currently Brittany dances/performs at the Air Canada Centre with the Toronto “Hot Rocks” a dance team for the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Team.

When Brittany is not dancing and performing she is passionate about writing lyrics in hopes that one day she will be able to record a full length album but for now she is ready to take on the dance world and keep training and performing to the best of her ability. A quote that she lives by that her former teacher once said to her “Dance with your heart…and your feet will follow”- Natalie Krill
