Gillian Leask

Gillian is a triple threat. She has trained intensively in jazz and tap (ADAPT), ballet (RAD), lyrical/contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, and modern. She has studied classical voice with the Royal Conservatory of Music, and many in-demand vocal coaches from across North America. The Randolph Academy (Toronto) and the Performing Arts Institute (Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania) are some of the many places where Gillian has received extensive training in musical theatre. Some theatrical credits include The Leader of the Pack, Oliver, Threepenny Opera, Once Upon a Mattress, BIG the Muscial, and The Music Man, many of which she was recognized as dance captain. She also has received training in acting for film from some of Toronto’s best acting coaches.

Most recently Gillian was seen dancing in the production shows of Celebrity Cruises’ Infinity, which gave her the opportunity to travel to Alaska, the Caribbean, and South America.

Gillian has worked as a dance instructor in studios, schools, day camps, and with many City of Oshawa community centres. Currently she teaches at Island Dance Studio in Port Perry, where she works with children of all ages and skill levels. Her award-winning choreography is innovative and gripping and she brings a fresh, youthful vibe with her to the studio. She is very excited to be a faculty member for the upcoming summer workshop Summer Living, and to work alongside many of Toronto’s newest and hottest choreographers.

Gillian has newly joined Lindsay Ritter Productions as a company member, with her first performance in She Wolf at the Bazaar: Latin Nights. She is excited to be a part of such a fresh new company, and is looking forward to exploring the world of commercial jazz!
